Boron-containing diamond single crystals are mostly synthesized by boron-doped graphite or boron-doped catalyst on the hinge type six-face top press at ultrahigh temperature and high pressure.
A small amount of boron doping in the catalyst to enhance the static strength and impact toughness of diamond and inhibit high-temperature oxidation reaction, the initial oxidation temperature can be increased from 761.7 ℃ to 951.6 ℃, boron-containing diamond in heat resistance, Wear resistance, chemical inertness, oxidation resistance and compressive strength, etc. are better than ordinary diamonds.
Boron-containing diamond single crystal is mainly used in the manufacture of drill bits, circular saw blades, cutting tools, grinding tools, etc., show more than ordinary diamond mechanical and processing performance.
Boron diamond surface oxidation temperature is higher than the generally diamond 150 ℃ ~ 250 ℃. Boron diamond tools used in the load intermittent cutting silicon aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, glass fiber reinforced plastic and other materials with good impact toughness. Boron-containing diamond crystal have a great wear resistance and grinding ability, especially for grinding hard and tough materials. In the cutting process with the iron adhesion phenomenon than ordinary diamond tools, non-stick knife, avoid to form BUE.
